Chocolate Festival 2012 Is Coming This Weekend!
Some of you I know have been looking forward to going to this for awhile. The outdoor FREE festival all about CHOCOLATE! From Hotel Chocolat to Paul A Young, this chocolate festival is always tons of fun and has some great seminars for free (and paid) as well. I always like going to Paul Wayne Gregory but as I had to pick only 2 to attend this time, I chose differently 😉
So what are you guys going to? Is anyone going and wants to meet up and chill over a hot chocolate? Anyone want to join me at the sessions or anything? Wait – what am I going to? After all there is this amazing schedule…
On Friday, I will be attending the Valrhona afternoon tea during the first sitting (unless something happens with my doc appointments). Valrhona rarely runs anything available to the public and so if I were you I’d jump at the chance! You can buy a ticket for £17.50 HERE and let me know if you’re going! I lost a tweet from someone saying they were going but I think the second sitting 🙁
On Saturday I will be going to at least 2 of the master classes which you need to pay £5 for but are always WELL worth it! One is Paul Wayne Gregory (BUY TICKET) who owns the Indulgence chocolate shop open to the public in Brixton Market and has a successful wholesale business (it is his choc9olate in some of the finest restaurants and hotels). The other is Rococo (BUY TICKET) which I’m really looking forward to. Chantal will be demonstrating goat’s cheese ganache, cherry marzipan and chocolate tapenade, savoury recipes from her new book, Rococo: Mastering the art of chocolate.
Are you going to either of those? Both look like they will be amazing. There are also ones by Damian Allsop who has a pop-up shop 3 days a week only (Thurs, Fri, Sat) in the Corinthia hotel in London – *WELL* worth going to for the exclusive Christmas chocolates! And there’s a session by Paul A Young who is one of the most drooled-over chocolatiers I think in London at the moment – he has 3 shops in London and he’ll be at the Chocolate Festival!
I will be there for 2 of the 3 days so let me know what you’re going to do too – maybe the FREE Outsider Tart baking demo, free chocolate tasting with ChocoMe, free tutored tasting with 70%, or some of the other amazing events happening. There’s a lot going on plus the various stands to buy chocolate from so no matter what, you’ll enjoy the Chocolate Festival!
Post Script – I didn’t end up attending as I lost my mother in law quite suddenly on Thursday night. My husband and I were in utter shock at her unexpected passing.
