Hotel Chocolat Alto El Sol 65% Peruvian Purist Chocolate Bar
Boasting red berries, raisins, vanilla and coconut, this chocolate bar had a lot to live up to. After the two 50% bars with their additives failed to shine through their chocolatiness (but yum loved those earl grey tea and yummy caramel flavours).
As you smell the richness of this chocolate bar, there seems the faintest whiff of sugar which made me wary but I needn’t have been. The moment this chocolate starts to melt on your palette your mouth is flooded with the flavour of ripe red berries and raisins. It coats the inside of your mouth with the gorgeous flavour of summer. I didn’t get the vanilla and only a subtle hint of coconut which didn’t put me off the bar at all.
Like other chocolate bars in this Purist range, it is only 35g of deliciousness. I’d probably opt for a larger bar of this chocolate because of the flavour. I really enjoy chocolate that has this fruitiness in it and comes through tot stand well on its own. I might not cut it up and put it in my chocolate cupcakes tonight but that’s only because it is lovely on its own.
