Gu Puds After Dark Chocolate Orange Melting Middles ReviewedIt’s been awhile since I reviewed the lovely offerings from Gu Puds. I think it might be since the Jubile! Well, that had to be rectified and in style – reviewing one of their newest releases and one of my favourite types of pudding – a melting middle. For me, a non-orange lover (I like it but I’m not passionate about it) I wanted to see how the Gu Puds After Dark Chocolate Orange Melting Middles performed.

I do eat lots of chocolate orange combos from Club biscuits to some of the best chocolate and orange combos around, I’ve tried a lot of chocolate orange despite not being a favourite. I was curious to see how the orange came through in this chocolate to see whether it was subtle or in your face. Of course, I was also looking forward to my ramekins!

I was worried that the microwave wouldn’t work but wow did it ever. Look at that middle. It was absolutely perfectly cooked by following the instructions and had that melting middle with lovely cakey exterior.

The flavour was thankfully not too orangey. I didn’t detect the usual synthetic orange but rather it tasted like someone added orange zest to the mix and then strained it out. You get that orange flavour coming through but then it dissipates as you eat, leaving only a hint of the orange behind.

This was lovely. I genuinely enjoyed it and have been saving the second one to be a treat later in the week. YUM! Best of all it’s in the supermarkets for Christmas!
