english cheesecake company 12 festive minisI do enjoy cheesecake but I’m fussy. My childhood friend’s mother set up Carole’s Cheesecake Company and we only ever had hers and back then it was out of this world. Other than that, my mom made it. So the English Cheesecake Company is always going to be set against the platinum and gold standards for cheesecake. Tough acts to follow.

I’m also picky about my cheesecake because it is a lot about mouth feel. In fact, if you defrost a cheesecake improperly it can change the texture slightly. Leave it in the fridge too long, you can ruin its texture. Ya, I’m that fussy. I threw out a tray of someone else’s cheesecakes I was foolish enough to buy because after the first bite of one I knew I’d never be able to face another bite. They tasted fine but the mouth feel… bleck.

Given I’m *that* fussy about my cheesecake texture, imagine as a food reviewer how picky I am about flavour. Given how long food sits in my mouth (I am not an inhaler, nor am a single cewed before swallowing while holding my breath), I’m fussy about my flavours.

I’d buy these mini Christmas cheesecakes again.

I mean, I was sent these to review but I’d buy them in a heartbeat. They are only £3 per mini cheesecake and worth every single cent of that £3. I wanted to review all 12 flavours but the cheesecakes were so god I couldn’t stop eating them so I managed to stuff 3 in my mouth (well, the equivalent of 1.5 cheesecake minis) then I called defeat. That was with no dinner. So I imagine as a dessert or as part of a buffet one would be more than enough. One is fine for sharing really. Even husband agreed that one was a meal (he ate the mint one and I took some of his which is why I could only finish 1/4 of the Star Gazer)

In the box are 12 different flavours. Each flavour is different *but* there are still enough chocolate that is approaching plain that it’ll be fine for the kids and adults. In fact, for the kids I’d only ever serve them cut. The 12 different cheesecakes are totally seasonal and I highly recommend buying them NOW. You’ll see why in a minute but you haven’t got much time left to order to just CLICK THIS LINK and buy yourself some awesome Christmas mini cheesecakes NOW!

english cheesecake company 12 festive minisAfter Dinner Mint – Creamy vanilla cheesecake on a digestive biscuit base topped with these famous chocolate mints, green chocolate drops and white icing – husband tried this and has sworn off all other cheesecakes for this one. In fact, when I let him try some of my Christmas holly one he dismissed it as inferior. I have to say, I liked them both but this cheesecake really was like eating the most amazing after dinner mint!
Star Gazer – Delicious baked chocolate cheesecake on a chocolate biscuit base topped with chocolate fudge sauce and white chocolate stars. Sprinkles with snow dusting. This was an amazing chocolate cheesecake. Smooth, delicious and not too sweet, I really wanted to eat more of this one but I was defeated by having two others before it!
Cranberry & Lime – Creamy baked vanilla cheesecake on a digestive biscuit base topped  with bursting cranberries and zesty lime curd (and lime zest). I loved this one. It was the first one I tried and I kept going back. I ate 3/4 of this one. The tart cranberries literally explode in your mouth and are balanced by the sweeter cheesecake but not completely so you get this lovely tart taste with the delicious smooth cheesecake. I think you get around 3 cranbetties per quarter so more than plenty. The zest didn’t taste bitter at all either with all that cranberry happening in your mouth. WOW!
Christmas Holly – Creamy baked chocolate cheesecake on a chocolate biscuit base topped with their rich chocolate fudge sauce and two festive chocolate holly leaves. The white chocolate was pretty standard white chocolate but they are not for cutting through so remove before cutting. If you do these in half then you can replace the leaves on each half. I loved it. Their chocolate cheesecake is absolutely wonderful and the biscuit base was a perfect counterpoint for the smooth cheesecake. Heaven and it ruined me for the rest of the box.
So here I had to admit defeat. I had eaten too much but I can describe what else was in the box!
Brandy Snap – Creamy baked vanilla cheesecakeon a digestive biscuit base topped with brandy snap rolls and sprinkled with edible white snow dusting sugar. This is top of my list to try next!
Mandarin Mayhem – Creamy baked vanilla cheesecake on a digestive biscuit base topped with mandarin segments in a delicate glaze. Husband has staked his claim on this one though after his After Dinner Mint experience he may be ruined for life.
Raspberry Pavlova – Creamy baked vanilla cheesecake on a digestive biscuit base topped with crumbly merangue chunks and juicy raspberries. I’m also staking my claim on this one.
Mince Pie – Creamy baked vanilla cheesecake on a digestive biscuit base topped with sweet mincemeat, dark chocolate shavings and snow dusting sugar. Husband can have this one though I will try a bit as I’m not a mincemeat fan.
Snowball – Creamy baked chocolate cheesecake on a chocolate biscuit base topped with rich chocolate fudge sauce and a coconut chocolate cream filled profiterole.
Peppermint Bark – Creamy baked chocolate cheesecake on a chocolate biscuit base topped with rich chocolate fudge and crushed peppermint candy pieces. This is MINE!
Honeycomb – Creamy baked vanilla cheesecake on a digestive biscuit base, topped with crushed golden and chocolate  honeycomb nuggets. This one suffered some spillage in transit but it was quickly repaired and is awaiting me sharing with husband.
Gingerbread Man – Their classic baked vanilla cheesecake on a digestive biscuit base topped with dulce de leche toffee, gingerbread chunks and edible mini gingerbread men. Sprinkled with snow dusting. I have to admit I didn’t notice the gingerbread men but this one is hidden from husband and I’m reluctant to fetch it and expose it’s hiding place!

Buy these – they are so yummy, there is a flavour for everyone and they are only for the holidays. Just go and buy a box. If you are like husband and me they will last you through the long night ahead though you will quickly become addicted. I cannot think of higher praise than if I had gotten these as a preview before the holiday season, I’d be buying some now. You can buy these online for homke delivery HERE (yes – cheesecake straight to your door – HEAVEN!)
